Day 2: Charm el cheikh
Day2: 26th of May 2005
This morning, we woke up very early to go to Charm el cheikh, a place on the Egyptian seashore at the edge of the Red Sea. We went there by bus and it took us a consequent time.
As usual when we arrived we went straight ahead to the hotel. We were lucky because it was a lovely place. We will show you at the end of the article all the photos, but let's go back to our story. So we had breakfast at the hotel, in the English way (the tea was marvellous) and then we went diving with a dive master who told us more about the Egyptian seaside.
It is actually famous for its wonderful seabed. Were you aware of the fact that you can observe there a large amount of dolphins, goldfishes, sharks and much more species of fishes you just didn't know anything about? The dive was superb, you just can't imagine how majestuous the sight of it is. The colors and the shapes of the corals were so fascinating and the sun's light created a reflexion on the fishes' scales that gave them an iridescent color. Unfortunatly, François is as stubborn as a mule and decided to go farther down in the seabed in order to get closer to a sea turtle even if it's not indicated. Of course the pressure was way stronger, so he was forced to go back up in order to get some fresh air, but nothing happened to him hopefully.
It was 2 PM when we decided to have lunch at the hotel. The food was curious but still delicious.
In the afternoon, around 4 PM, we sunbathed on the beach as we were as white as snow. I was stupid because François, (always so narrow-minded) refused to apply on him some sunscreen... He became as red as a tomato...
For dinner we went to a Thai restaurant, yes, yes I said THAI restaurant where we ate THAI food! As unbeleavable as it seems, the food was great, in an Egyptian Thai restaurant...
Happy and a bit drunk (we admitt) we came back staggering to our room and on the way... We were suddenly attacked by a large group of bandits who were riding camels. They stole us our bag which contained the room key! Finally they evaporated in a cloud of sand... As a result, we slept outside, because the reception was closed and the police office as well. Hard night... We wish you a pleasant journey and see you with the next article folks. ;)
